Bieri Farms
was established in 1946 primarily as a rice and cattle operation. Located
remotely inside the boundaries of the farm are several large secluded
lakes. These lakes were stocked with bass in the early 50's when Bieri
Farms began their fishing club operations.
The lakes now referred to as Bieri Lakes has been developed into
a premier trophy bass fishing retreat. Bieri Lakes is currently an
exclusive membership-fishing club that is professionally managed to
provide its club members with excellent bass fishing. It is only 45
minutes south of Houston, Texas and is conveniently near Houston Hobby
Airport and Brazoria County Airport.
Bieri lakes features 3 heavily wooded lakes totaling 250
acres. The front lake covers 125 acres. It is heavily wooded with
large standing oak timber and is surrounded by cattails that create
a very natural and scenic setting. It also has a tremendous amount
of fallen timber creating excellent natural underwater fishing structure.
The back lake consists of 85 acres. It is unique due to the amount
of cattails located throughout the middle of the lake. The cattails
create a virtual maze winding throughout the lake. It also has scattered
standing timber, stumps, and underwater brush piles. The middle lake
is the smallest of the three lakes which cover 40 acres. The habitat
consists of scattered timber, brush, piles, and stumps. The lake also
has several small islands which form underwater points, drop offs,
and deep channels between the islands.
The lodge overlooks the front lake and the club's swimming pool.
The lodge consists of a large furnished clubroom for lounging and
eating. Also next to the clubroom is a large bedroom that will accommodate
up to six people. The lodge also overlooks seven acres of beautiful
large oak trees along Flores Bayou.
Bieri Lakes provides fully rigged bass boats for its member. These
boats are serviced and maintained by management. Boats are reserved
by members and are ready to go upon arrival. The complex also has
a covered barbecue pavilion, swimming pool, office building, concrete
boat ramps, and covered boathouse.
Bieri Lakes
also has on the premises a fish hatchery that is used for the production
of bass and forage fingerlings for stocking. The hatchery consists of nine
brood ponds that average an acre in size. The production of fingerlings
allows intensive lake management techniques to maintain above average
stocking rates. |
